Pilea Care Instructions
Light - Keep your ‘pass-it-along’ plant in a spot that receives plenty of bright indirect light, as direct sun is too intense for them.
Water - Water your pilea when the soil approaches dryness. They can handle a good drink but don’t like to sit in soggy soil and prefer to dry out well between waterings. If they happen to miss a watering, they’ll let you know they’re thirsty by their droopy fronds and sallow complexion.
You might notice little sprouts that pop out of the soil around the main plant. These are babies that can either be left to grow or separated and propagated to make new plants! Rotate your plant periodically to ensure even growth on all sides and dust the leaves from time to time so the plant can photosynthesize efficiently. When dusting the leaves, also take the opportunity to inspect the undersides and keep an eye out for pests.
*Just like people, each plant is a unique living thing and may have varying needs, especially in their individual locations. These are basic guidelines that may have to be augmented slightly depending on the environment you place your plant in, as well as frequency and amount of water given.
