Amaryllis Care Instructions
Light - Most of the hard work has already been done so you’re pretty much free to place your amaryllis bulb wherever you’d like! Just keep in mind that the warmer and sunnier the spot, the quicker it’ll bloom and expire.
Water - A bulb can retain quite a bit of water but you don’t want to let the soil be too dry for too long. Water thoroughly and allow the soil to approach dryness. Make sure to keep an eye on your amaryllis plant given that most likely the heat will be on at this time of year and the air will be dryer than usual, possibly causing the soil to dry out more quickly. Avoid over-saturating the soil as amaryllis are still susceptible to root rot.
Be prepared for your plant to GROW! What starts out only a few inches tall will most likely grow another foot or two. Use the branching provided in the design to aid with support as the stem takes off. We even recommend holding onto the ribbon from the packaging to use as ties to hold the stem to the branching.
*Just like people, each plant is a unique living thing and may have varying needs, especially in their individual locations. These are basic guidelines that may have to be augmented slightly depending on the environment you place your plant in, as well as frequency and amount of water given.
