Our Top Pick of Low-Maintenance Plants

Our Top Pick of Low-Maintenance Plants

During the dark and frosty days of winter, it sometimes feels like nothing green will ever be seen again. But we’re here to give you our top list of plants that can grow, and dare we say it, thrive, in a lower light environment and with less hands-on care than you might think:

Snake plant - one of the most popular and hardy houseplants around. These architectural beauties feature stiff, sword-like leaves, are easy to grow, and are pretty much indestructible!

Maidenhair fern - these delicate plants feature pretty lace-like leaves and are a popular choice amongst fern-lovers.

Bromeliad - relatively slow-growing, these plants are low maintenance and easy to care for. The perfect choice for homes with children and/or pets as they are non-toxic.

Philodendron - these easy to grow plants add a touch of the tropics whilst also not being too fussy about their care. Be sure to give them a wipe regularly to ensure optimal growth as their large leaves easily collect dust.

Anthurium - these tropical plants brighten up even the dreariest of spaces. Native to Central America, northern South America, and the Caribbean, anthuriums are distinctive for their colorful, heart-shaped waxy spathes.

Peace Lily - these easy-going houseplants love a lower-light environment and can withstand a lot of neglect! They’re toxic to pets and people though so be careful about where you place them.

* As always, all plants do need some amount of light, water, care and attention to grow.
