Goldilocks would be proud, the porridge is always 'juuust right' at The Porridge Mom's house! This nourishing, hardy start to the day is a staple for Denise's family, and she doesn't stir up a pot of goodness without the proper tools. A spurtle isn't the easiest utensil to find and after having bought one from a kitchen store, she realized that the wood used for it wasn't actually food-safe. Frustrated from the purchase, she took matters into her own hands and decided to have one commissioned by a local woodworker in Port Credit! Wanting to share her love of porridge with the world, she now offers these small-batch, artisan made, traditional spurtles so you can follow along with her journey on Instagram and 'Stir in some goodness!' yourself!
These traditional spurtles are made of hardwood maple, sourced only from sustainable forests. They're non-toxic, have no characteristic odour, are resistant to splitting and are highly suitable for culinary use. They're ergonomically designed and are shaped to make the creamiest, dreamiest lump-free bowl of oats. They can also be used for batter. soup, rice or stew!
